Do you offer packing services?

Yes. We can pack the whole home or just the rooms you pick, like the kitchen and anything fragile, and unpack at the other end.

How far in advance should I book?

As soon as you know your date, especially at the end of the month or if your building needs an elevator reservation. Short notice? Call anyway. If a crew is free, we can help.

Our office is at 226 Dr M.L.K. Jr St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33705. Call (727) 328-4448 to talk about your move.

Yes, piano moving is one of our services. Send us the piano type and a few photos of the stairs and doorways at both homes, and we'll plan it from there.

Piano Types

Upright, Baby Grand and Grand Piano Moving in St. Petersburg, FL

Upright Piano

Tell us about stairs

Heavier than it looks

The most common piano move. Uprights are tall and top-heavy, so the path out of the room matters as much as the lift.

Measure doorways and turns before move day
Tell us about every step, inside and out
Pads on the piano and protection on the floors
A truck matched to the job

Baby Grand Piano

Plan the route first

Legs come off for the trip

Baby grands usually travel on their side, with the legs and pedal lyre taken off and padded.

Legs and pedal lyre taken off and padded
Put back together at the new home
Tell us about stairs and tight turns
Plan a tuning once it settles in

Grand Piano

Call to talk it through

The biggest of the three

Grands are long, heavy and awkward on stairs. Call us before you set a date so we can talk through the room, the route and the truck.

Measure the room, doorways and hallway
Note every stair and threshold
Clear a wide path on move day
Book a tuner for after the move

Our Method

How a Piano Move Goes, in 5 Steps

A good piano move is mostly planning. Here is how we approach yours.

Talk It Through

Tell us where the piano is and where it is going: stairs, turns and doorways at both ends.

Take Apart & Wrap

Parts that need to come off, come off. We bring the tools to take them apart and pads to wrap them.

Protect the Floors

Floor protection goes down along the path before the piano moves.

Load

The piano rides padded, on a truck sized for the job.

Put It Back Together

Anything we took apart goes back together, and the piano goes where you want it.

Piano Storage

Storing a Piano in St. Pete

Storage is available if you need a gap between homes
Ask whether the storage space is climate controlled before you book
Humidity swings are hard on soundboards and wood finishes
Plan a professional tuning after any move
Snowbirds: ask about storage between seasons
Call us to discuss your storage timeline and requirements

Every interaction, from arranging our move to the moving day itself, was fantastic! They kept us informed leading up to the move, which was reassuring. We ended up using their services for two moves within a month, and each time was smooth and professional. Kris, Ray, and Marc were not only courteous but also had fantastic attitudes! They were incredibly professional and hardworking on both occasions. My family and I wholeheartedly recommend Karma Movers for anyone in need of moving services!
