Moving to or from St. Petersburg?
Whether you're moving across town, into a downtown condo or out of St. Pete altogether, start by telling us both addresses and what's going with you. We'll ask a few questions and send a free estimate.
Neighborhoods and the homes in them
St. Petersburg moves look different depending on where you are. Downtown means condo towers with freight elevators to book and loading rules to follow. The Old Northeast has brick streets, older homes and not much room to park a truck. Historic Kenwood is full of bungalows, which are lovely and often have narrow doors and tight hallways. Tell us which of these sounds like your move and we'll plan around it.
Timing your move
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, so leave a little room in your dates and keep important papers with you. Summer afternoons often bring storms, so morning starts are popular. The end of the month is busy everywhere because that's when leases turn over. If you can move mid-month, ask whether it changes your estimate.
Checking a mover before you book
Moves within Florida are handled by movers registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, so look the company up by name. For a move to another state, ask for the USDOT number and check it on the FMCSA lookup. Then get the estimate in writing and read the valuation terms.
Services available for St. Petersburg moves
Local moves, long-distance moves, packing and unpacking, storage, office moves, labor-only help, furniture and piano moves, and moving supplies.
What your estimate should cover
Both addresses, the rooms and big pieces, stairs or elevators at each end, where the truck can park, any packing and anything fragile or heavy, like a piano. Hourly and flat-rate options. Call (727) 328-4448 for a free estimate.
